Shepton Mallet Community Infants’ School & Nursery welcomes children from birth to 7 years of age. We are a maintained school within Somerset and have a Published Admission Number (PAN) of 47 pupils for each year group. If applications exceed the number of places available, admissions will be allocated in accordance with Somerset Council’s published admissions criteria.
We warmly welcome prospective parents and carers to visit the school and see our learning environment in action. Tours are usually led by the Headteacher and provide an opportunity to look around the school and ask any questions you may have.
To arrange a visit, please contact the school office. We are always happy to arrange a follow-up visit if required.
You can apply for a place at our school at any time. If a place is available in the relevant year group, you will be informed accordingly.
If your child is due to start school for the first time, Somerset Council will provide information about the application process during the school admissions round. Places are allocated according to the Somerset Council’s published admissions criteria. While many children living within our catchment area are offered places at the school, applications from families living outside the catchment area are also welcomed and considered in line with the admissions policy.
