Please send your child to school wearing sports clothes and footwear. \nAlso\, please can you provide your child with a named drinks bottle full of water and ensure your child has a sun hat and is wearing sun cream. \nOut of respect for St Paul’s children please try not to include any other children on photos / videos that you may take. This applies especially St Paul’s children. The aim of the meeting\, which will last approximately one hour\, is to give you information which we hope will help you to prepare your child for starting school. This meeting is not suitable for young children so it would be helpful if you could find a child minder or come to the evening session when we will provide a free crèche in our Nursery. \nDuring the meeting we will \n\nIntroduce you to the Reception class teachers who will talk to you about what your child will experience in their first year at school.\nShow you our school uniform and tell you how to order it.\nAnswer any of your questions.\nAnd finally\, give you a guided tour of the school.\n\nYou will be given a pack which includes the school brochure\, information pack and a booklet which contains various forms that must be completed and returned to the school no later than Friday 12th July 2024. SUMMARY:Chew Valley Animal park - School Trip
DESCRIPTION:The children will have 3 workshops over the course of the day\, one around animal handling\, one show of exotic animals and a guided tour of the park. This will support and enhance lots of the topics covered in school over the course of the year and be tremendous fun for all the children. \nWoodpecker\, Starling & Hummingbird Class – Thursday 13th June 2024 \nRobin\, Kingfisher & Goldfinch Class – Friday 13th June 2024 \nPlease note the following arrangements:- \n\nWe will be leaving school at 9.00 am PROMPTLY\, the coach will not wait for latecomers. We will return to school at approximately 3.00 pm.\n\n\nIf your child requires a packed lunch please make your selection on the form over the page. If you are supplying a packed lunch from home please tick the relevant box. Please ensure you send the packed lunch in a plastic bag clearly marked with your child’s name. (These bags will be thrown away at the end of the day).  As we are a “Healthy School”\, please do not include chocolate\, sweets or fizzy drinks.\n\n\nChildren should wear their school uniform and sensible shoes. We will be outside for most of the day\, so please consider applying sunscreen before school and sending in a sunhat if the forecast is for hot weather.\n\n\nPlease note children will only be taken on this trip if we are confident that their behaviour will not endanger their own safety or that of the other children.\n\n\nThe Parents and Friends Association has heavily subsidised the cost of the trip and therefore we are able to keep the cost to parents down to a voluntary contribution of £10.00. Please ensure that all cash and cheques (made payable to ‘Somerset County Council’.) are brought into school in a sealed envelope\, clearly marked with your child’s name and class by Friday 7th June 2024. No child will be allowed on the trip without a completed consent form.\n\n\nIf you wish to start paying for the trip in instalments\, please see Ms Hayne in the office\n\n\nThis trip can only go ahead if we have enough support. Therefore if we do not receive enough voluntary contributions regrettably the trip will have to be cancelled.\n\nWe are very excited to be able to offer this trip to our children and I am sure that they will have a wonderful time.
